Taslima Nasreen ban from India

Indian government has reportedly cancelled writer Taslima Nasreen`s residence permit and issued her a temporary tourist visa for two months.

The self exiled writer in her twitter note on Thursday writers: “Indian govt has canceled my resident permit that I started getting since 2004.Issued a temp tourist visa for 2 months.Beyond my imagination”

Jagaran group`s online Hindi newspaper Naidunia reports, Taslima applied for renewal of her residence permit about a month ago. But she got not response from the government.

She said on Twitter on July 26: “I applied for the extension of my Indian resident permit a month ago. No answer from govt. Never happened before.”

Taslima Nasreen left Bangladesh in 1994 following threats from Bangladeshi Islamists who reportedly accused her of blasphemy. She went into self-exile in US, Europe and India.

Earlier, she expressed her wish to live permanently in India, where she has been living since 2004.
