Huawei Beijing welcomes Bangladeshi ICT talents of “Seeds for the Future” 2019

Top ten Bangladeshi students, selected through Huawei’s flagship CSR program “”Seeds for the future 2019” have been taken to China for training and study trip. The students have been welcomed in Beijing opening ceremony at the Huawei Executive Briefing Centre, Beijing, China. Mr. M Fazlul Karim, H E Ambassador of Bangladesh, Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Beijing, China, was the Chief Guest. Md. Mahfuzul Alam Khan, Commercial Counsellor of Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Beijing, China along with Huawei high officials were present to appreciate the students.

Starting in 2008, the program has been implemented in 108 countries and international organization worldwide, benefiting over 30,000 students from more than 350 universities till now. Among them, more than 3,600 students have taken a study trip to the Huawei headquarters. This year’s program in Bangladesh started on 17th February, 2019 at the Westin hotel in Dhaka. Later on, selection round was held in 5 renowned universities- BUET, DU, RUET, KUET and CUET. Total 10 students were selected finally. The top ten students were given a warm reception in a Gala event on 3rd April, 2019 at the hotel Amari Dhaka before taking to China.

Mr. M Fazlul Karim , H E Ambassador of Bangladesh, Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Beijing, China said, “I want to thank Huawei wholeheartedly. Huawei is working in Bangladesh through continuous contribution and participation in the process of realizing Digital Bangladesh. They are working in close collaboration with the government of Bangladesh for two decades since 1998. This friendship has helped Bangladesh move faster towards the Vision 2021 project, which is bringing new opportunities for the youth talents. I hope the “Seeds for the Future” 2019 program will get bigger momentum in future by involving more Bangladeshi students. The most praiseworthy thing about Huawei is that, even being a tech-giant, Huawei never boasts of their achievement. Instead, they keep on investing more and more in research and development to create a better connected world together. Within a very short time, this company has come this far by their relentless innovation and quality services.”

Mr. Zhang Zhengjun, CEO, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd. said, “Congratulations to the students for their success. Huawei wants to push these young talents forward so that they become valuable industry forerunners. Innovation is at the heart of Huawei, which is making the company clearly ahead of the curve. Advanced technology, richest R&D facility and superior services are the blueprints of Huawei’s success model. I hope this program will help students improve their technical expertise and skill for work. For last 20 years, Huawei is cooperating with Bangladesh closely and Seeds for the Future is greatly helping the youth to be well trained to create a better connected, intelligent Bangladesh. In future, we will continue our contribution to the digitalization process.”

To cultivate more ICT Talents in any country and provide opportunity for students to learn ICT technologies and experience the Chinese culture, Huawei selects excellent students from noted universities every year.
