PM visits Walton Mega Stall at Dhaka Int’l Trade Fair-24

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the mega stall of Walton after inaugurating the month-long 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2024 at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal New Town, on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday (January 21, 2024).

During the visit, the Prime Minister was overwhelmed by witnessing the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled Walton products and the remarkable progress of the local brand in manufacturing hi-tech items.

She specially expressed her satisfaction on Walton brand laptop, smart fridge, air conditioner, television, lift and energy saving home appliances. She also praised Bangladesh`s progress in manufacturing such products.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, who was present during the Prime Minister’s visit, said, the Prime Minister greeted Walton for its initiatives in manufacturing highest standard products with advanced features.

The Prime Minister told that Walton is the pride of Bangladesh’s electronics industry. She know everything about what kinds of products Walton is making. The progress of Walton and Bangladesh in the production of hi-tech products is commendable.

Prime Minister was happy to know that Walton brand products are being exported to different countries. During her visit, some obstacles in the field of export of products and investment in abroad were brought up to the Prime Minister. In this regard, the Prime Minister and her Adviser Salman F Rahman assured the government’s policy support.

During the Prime Minister’s visit at Walton mega stall, State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam (Titu), MP, Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman F Rahman, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Director Tahmina Afrose Tanna, Walton’s Additional Managing Director S M Shoyeb Hossain Nobel and Major General (Retd.) Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam and EPB’s Vice-Chairman AHM Ahsan, among others, were present.

Bangladeshi electronics giant Walton has set up a spectacular mega stall modeled after the Bangabandhu tunnel at the 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair.

At Walton mega stall, electronics and electrical products including smart fridge, AC, TV, elevator, washing machine, laptop, computer, electric bike, home and kitchen appliances will be showcased under one roof.
