Uber the world’s largest personal mobility company, received its Ridesharing Service Provider Enlistment Certificate by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) today. The license has been granted to Uber after meeting specific criteria laid down by the Ride-sharing Service Guidelines 2017.
On receiving the license, Ratul Ghosh, Head of East India and Bangladesh, said, “Today is a great day for Uber, here in Bangladesh. We are thankful for all the cooperation and support that we have received from the BRTA and the Government of Bangladesh. We will continue to bring the benefits of ridesharing to transform the mobility landscape of the country. Going forward we want to leverage our technology to provide innovative products and offerings to serve our riders, drivers and cities and address the challenges they face today. Our license in Bangladesh is the first step in that direction to realize our vision of building smarter mobility, better cities and healthier lives in Bangladesh.”

Just last month Uber celebrated three years of operations in the country.
