Technology is the web that connects us all and people from all walks of life are increasingly becoming dependent on it. Thanks to smartphones and mobile data, we are more connected than ever, and technology has never before been as integral to our daily lives as it is now. Smartphones are easily the most widely spread gadgets, and are used for many purposes, starting from entertainment to even education. Thanks to the ever increasing demand for smartphone, local brands are emerging alongside international names, and they have already carved a strong foothold in the market.

To win over customers and get ahead in the competition, smartphone manufacturers are regularly coming up with devices that offer incredible features without putting much of a dent on the customer’s pockets. For as low as Tk. 3500 to Tk. 10,000, you can get phones that deliver satisfactory performance for the price range. Here’s a roundup of smartphones that you can buy within Tk. 10,000.

Symphony

Local brand Symphony offers 17 different models within Tk. 10,000. The Explorer E25 model, for instance, retails at Tk. 3750 and offers features such as Jelly Bean OS, 1 GHz dual core processor, 256 MB RAM and so on. For Tk. 7990, you can get the Explorer W95 which offers 5″ IPS display and a 1,3 GHz quadcore processor. Buyers will also get OTG cable, flip cover and a back cover free with these models. Symphony also has higher end phones to offer- the Explorer W94, for instance, runs on the KitKat OS, and features a 4.5 ” screen, 1.3 GHz quadcore processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB memory. It also has a powerful 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera for selfies. And it costs just Tk. 9190.

At Tk. 3490, the Primo C2 is the most economic of these and has a 3.5″ screen, Jelly Bean OS, 1.3 GHz processor as well dual SIM support. However, the phone does not support 3G, neither does it have a front camera. The Primo D range of phones are all under Tk. 5000 and each offers different specifications. Walton also has more powerful devices within the price range. The GH3 model costs Tk. 9,990 and incorporates a 4.5″ display, 1.3 GHz quadcore processor, 1 GB RAM, 8GB ROM as well as an 1800 mAh battery. The phone also has motion and environment sensors.

Microsoft

Taking over the Nokia brand, Microsoft has launched its own smartphone range in the market and offers three models within the Tk. 10000 budget- the Lumia 430, 435 and 532. The Lumia 532 has a 1.2 GHz quadcore processor, 8 GB memory and a 5 MP camera and retails for Tk. 9,500. The 435 model differs only in the camera but otherwise has the same specs. This model sells at Tk. 7,999. Last but not the least is the Lumia 430. Priced at tk. 6300, this model offres dual SIM support. All these three models have Windows 8.1 OS, free Office, One Drive and Skype calling features.

Apart from these brands, there are many other non branded devices available within Tk. 10,000. Despite a lack of warranty or after-sales service, these devices are quite popular as well. However, before buying phones, it is always a good idea to check the IMEI number by dialling *#06# and verifying whether the device is a clone or a master copy by visiting this website.
