Being United Vision 2021: Building Digital Bangladesh will be Achieved

Mustafa Jabbar has taken charge as Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister and Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP has taken charge as Hon’ble ICT State Minister. BASIS & other ICT organizations are delighted in this regard.

This is for sure an incredible milestone for the ICT Industry. To honor the achievement of Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Hon’ble ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP a felicitation program has been organized. Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) along with other IT Associations including Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPASB), Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) jointly organized this felicitation. The program took place at Celebrity Hall, Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).

At the program Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as Chief Guest and Hon’ble ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP was present as Special Guest.

At the felicitation program behalf of BASIS; President Syed Alams Kabir, Senior Vice President Farhana A Rahman, Vice President (Admin) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Vice President (Finance) Mushfiqur Rahman, Director Tamzid Siddiq Spondon, Director Didarul Alam, Director Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke were present. Besides, President of BCS Engr. Subrata Sarkar, President of ISPAB M A Hakim, President of BACCO Wahidur Rahman Sharif and President of e-CAB Shomi Kaiser were present. More than 1000 ICT companies CEO’s and high officials were also present.

At his welcome speech BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said, Hon’ble Prime Minister has perfectly selected two key personnel for our industry. They know ins-outs of ICT Industry. I heartily thank Hon’ble Prime Minister for making this wise decision. On behalf of BASIS; I congratulate Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Hon’ble ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP. Together the process of building Digital Bangladesh will be strengthened. BASIS is relentlessly working with ICT Division for making this dream come true. As the APEX Trade Body of ICT Industry we are always ready to extend our support. We will always stay beside of ICT Division and will continue working hand in hand with government for the betterment of ICT sector.

In their respective speeches President of BCS Engr. Subrata Sarkar, President of ISPAB M A Hakim, President of BACCO Wahidur Rahman Sharif and President of e-CAB Shomi Kaiser congratulated Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar and ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP.

In his speech Hon’ble ICT State Minister said, I would like to thank BASIS, BCS, ISPAB, BACCO and e-CAB for organizing such a wonderful program. We have come so far, we are on the track of building Digital Bangladesh. Credit equally goes to ICT Division and ICT Trade Bodies. ICT Trade Bodies are working together. From them we get to know the challenges of this industry and find a way forward in rectifying those problems. Also, ICT industries companies are getting govt. incentives properly through these trade bodies. We need to stay united. Together we will build Digital Bangladesh.

Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister said in his speech, I have worked closely with ICT trade bodies. I know its challenges; also have firm understanding of ICT companies’ expectations. BASIS, BCS, ISPAB, BACCO and e-CAB are continuously giving us updates on the industry scenario. Taking that context into account govt. is taking actions. We will continue to do so. Strengthening the local ICT industry through skill development is our key focus. Strong & skilled local market can uplift Digital Bangladesh properly. We are working relentlessly in this regard. Together within 2021 we will build Digital Bangladesh.

At the end of the program ICT industry members congratulated Hon’ble Posts, Telecommunications & ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Hon’ble ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP with crest & flower bouquets.
