Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services’ President Shameem Ahsan urges one of the world’s largest Online Payment Gateway Service (OPGS) providers ‘Payoneer Inc. USA’ to reduce the fees/charges to boost outsourcing.
He said this during his speech as Guest of Honor at the Bank Asia- Payoneer launching program today 08 January 2015 at a renowned hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank formally launched the service of Payoneer as Chief Guest.
BASIS President Shameem Ahsan congratulated Dr. Atiur Rahman for being elected as “South Asia’s Best Central Bank Governor”. He also said that every year freelancers are earning and bringing a lot of foreign currencies into the country in various ways with lot of obstacles and hassles but now Payoneer being launched in Bangladesh the freelancers will be able to does this hassle free and in order to boost outsourcing and further encourage the freelancers, charges needs to be reduced.
Shameem Ahsan also urged all Banks to purchase at least 40% of their IT needs in terms of software and services from local companies and also requested the Bangladesh Bank Governor to draft policies in order to implement and promote local businesses.
