Under the theme “Recognition for Innovation, Inspiration for Transformation,” the prestigious Bangladesh ICT and Innovation Awards 2025 was held on October 18 (Saturday) at the auditorium of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). The event honored the country’s most promising innovators with crests, certificates and prize tokens. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, handed over the awards to the champions in the evening ceremony. Special Guests included Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, NDC, Secretary, ICT Division, and Major General Md Emdad ul Bari, OSP, NDC, psc, te (retd), Chairman, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury said, “One of our major weaknesses is the lack of self-confidence. We often underestimate ourselves and become overly dependent on Western culture. Yet, our young generation holds immense potential — their innovative power can make Bangladesh shine brighter on the global technology map.” Special Guest Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury remarked, “Through programs like this, we want to identify innovative projects in which the ICT Division would be interested to invest. The Division already has several ongoing projects, and we are seeking technology-driven initiatives that can create real benefits for the people of Bangladesh.” Another Special Guest, Major General Md. Emdad Ul Bari (Retd.), said, “The true purpose of innovation is to identify people’s daily challenges and develop technology-driven solutions. At the same time, technology should be used in such a way that even people from remote areas can participate in such award programs from their homes — building an inclusive digital ecosystem across the nation.”
Syed Almas Kabir, Chairman of the Bangladesh ICT and Innovation Network (BIIN), said, “Through the Bangladesh ICT and Innovation Awards, we aim to create a national platform where innovators can present their ideas and gain recognition. This initiative will accelerate technology-based entrepreneurship and open new avenues for investment and collaboration.” Moon M. Rajib, General Secretary of BIIN, added, “Bangladesh ICT and Innovation Network (BIIN) is developing a collaborative ecosystem that brings together mid-level professionals, students, young innovators, and journalists. Our goal is to establish innovation as a driving force for national development.”
