Global AI device ecosystem company HONOR has recently teased its new smartphone dubbed ‘Robot Phone’ at the launch event of the Magic8 series. It is the world’s first phone, integrated with advanced robotics, AI, and emotional intelligence, designed for everyday use.
The phone, on first impression, looks like any regular smartphone, but at the rear, it features a pop-up camera on a gimbal-like robotic arm that swings out. This is a game-changing step in how people interact with their phones, as HONOR’s innovative phone can look around, engage with users, and even express emotion with its onboard AI and robot features, leveraging this unique feature.
The brand has also released a 2-minute 40-second teaser of the phone on their YouTube channel. In that teaser video, the camera can be seen moving around playfully and reacting with facial expressions in the teaser video, reminding many viewers of the award-winning animation film “Wall-E”.
The HONOR design takes inspiration from HONOR’s philosophy of thinking ahead, where machines are presented as emotional, interactive companions rather than inanimate tools.
The teaser video provides a sneak peek of the device, creating buzz among tech enthusiasts about the innovative features it might have. HONOR will also reveal additional details and even conduct live demos of the Robot Phone’s features at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 event in Barcelona.
