Uber has rolled-out the Bangla version of the app for drivers and riders in Bangladesh, today, reiterating its commitment to the market with localised offerings. Available on Android OS, the new language setting will help drivers with a smooth navigation experience, and also make the ride booking experience seamless for riders.
Drivers can change the language to ‘Bangla’ by simply altering the ‘App Language’ settings in their Uber app.
Riders can switch to the Bangla version of the Uber app by changing the language settings of their smartphone from ‘English’ to ‘Bangla’.
Talking about the new language offering, Ratul Ghosh, Head of Bangladesh & East India, Uber India SA, said, “At Uber, we believe technology provides us with an incredible opportunity to improve our service and provide localised solutions to specific needs. Drivers are at the heart of Uber, and we constantly communicate with them. Their feedback underscored the need for the local language for a seamless app experience. We are delighted to roll the Bangla version of the app in Bangladesh, and hope our riders and driver partners find it useful.”
Here is how how drivers can change the language settings on their smartphones:
Android
● Select ‘Account’ from app’s options menu
● Select ‘App language’
● Select ‘Bangla (Bangladesh)’
● Confirm ‘Change’
Once the language changes are confirmed, the new language settings should be reflected on the Uber app.
About Uber:
Uber’s mission is to create opportunities through movement. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 15 billion trips later, we’re building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.
