Shwastika Mukherjee Speaks Out: “Women Live in Fear Amid Rising Violence

Shwastika Mukherjee, known for her outspoken nature and acclaimed acting career, has once again made headlines, this time for her strong stance on women’s safety and animal rights. The actress, who is also a passionate animal lover, recently took to Facebook to express her concerns about the safety of women in society, drawing a parallel between human and animal behavior.

The post was shared shortly after Shwastika was honored for her work in animal welfare. In her Facebook post, she addressed a comment made by someone who expressed fear of street dogs, claiming they might attack. Shwastika countered this by highlighting that humans are no less aggressive than animals, and in many cases, far more dangerous. She emphasized that women often feel unsafe due to the violent actions of some men.

Shwastika wrote, “Some humans are extremely aggressive and violent. They are committing rapes, murders. Women are living in constant fear—on buses, trams, offices, ports, at home, in schools, and colleges. If you could just share with us what you’re doing about it, please!”

Her post sparked a wave of reactions. While many supported her views, others criticized her for comparing the fear of street dogs to the fear of human violence. One commenter argued, “Street dogs occasionally bite, and the injections required after such bites are often unavailable in hospitals. I am also a dog lover, but equating the fear of dogs with rape and murder seems absurd. When you next meet government officials, perhaps you could publicly urge them to ensure proper vaccination, sterilization, and availability of medicines for street dogs. As a celebrity, your voice could make a difference.”

Another user commented, “While humans can be intentionally harmful, dogs do not act with such malice.”

However, many stood by Shwastika, praising her for speaking the truth. One supporter wrote, “You’ve said absolutely the right thing,” while another added, “She’s hit the nail on the head with her statement.”

Shwastika’s candid remarks have once again ignited an important conversation about women’s safety and the need for societal change, proving that her voice extends far beyond the screen.
