Shakib Record Bangladesh wins

Bangladesh win against Zimbabwe by 87 runs in the first ODI in Chittagong on Friday. Shakib was declared man of the match for his 101 runs and four-wicket haul.

Earlier, Bangladesh posted a challenging score of 281 runs losing seven wickets in their 50 overs after Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim pulled Bangladesh from crumbled edge as the partnership scored 148 runs.

Bangladesh lost batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque and middle order Mahmudullah and Mominul Haque before 50 runs in the scoreboard.

Zimbabwean pacer Panyangara dismissed Tamim Iqbal while Chatara picked up Anamul Haque and Mahmudullah.

Earlier in the afternoon, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field.

Allrounder Sabbir Rahman scored a valuable 44 runs in his ODI debut. He is the 113th Bangladeshi to play ODI format.

Bangladeshi allrounder Shakib Al Hasan becomes the fourth player in the cricket history to score more than 2,000 runs and take more than 100 wickets in one-day cricket matches on their home grounds.

The other three players are Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka, Jacques Kallis of South Africa and Steve Waugh of Australia.

Shakib completed his 2,000 runs by stroking Elton Chigumbura on the 19th over of the match. Shakib hammered a 101 before being caught by Panyangara of Tafadzwa Kamungozi on the 44th over of Bangladesh innings.

Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka scored 3,880 runs and took 119 wickets in 128 matches in his home ground whereas Australian former captain Steve Waugh scored 3,165 runs and took 101 wickets in 153 matches and South African allrounder Jacques Kallis scored 5,178 runs and took 116 wickets in 142 matches.
