Prioritising Eye Health in the Era of Constant Connectivity

Eye Health

The average smartphone user spends hours looking at a screen every day, often without realising how quickly digital fatigue can build up. Whether it is attending online classes, replying to work emails, scrolling through social media, or watching videos during the commute home, prolonged screen exposure has become an unavoidable part of modern life. As usage habits evolve, smartphone innovation is increasingly focusing not only on performance but also on protecting users’ visual comfort.

One of the biggest contributors to eye strain is display flicker, particularly when a phone is used at low brightness in dim environments. While often invisible to the naked eye, prolonged exposure can lead to discomfort, headaches, and tired eyes. To address this, manufacturers are beginning to adopt high-frequency dimming technologies that reduce flicker without compromising display quality.

The Infinix Note 60 Pro is among the devices embracing this approach with its 2304Hz PWM dimming technology. By operating at a much higher dimming frequency, the display is designed to reduce imperceptible flickering, making extended reading, late-night study sessions, and prolonged content consumption more comfortable.

The smartphone also includes Motion Sickness Relief, a feature aimed at users who frequently use their phones while travelling. Reading articles, watching videos, or replying to messages inside moving vehicles can create visual discomfort for many people. The feature helps deliver a more stable viewing experience, making screen time during commutes easier on the eyes.

The growing emphasis on visual wellness reflects a broader change in smartphone design. Instead of competing solely on brighter displays or higher resolutions, brands are recognising that long-term comfort is becoming just as important as performance.

For Infinix, integrating technologies such as high-frequency PWM dimming and Motion Sickness Relief into the Note 60 Pro reflects this changing priority. As smartphones continue to occupy more hours of everyday life, the most meaningful display upgrade may not be the brightest screen, but the one designed to help users stay comfortable while using it.
