Pathao has distributed more than a thousand stickers containing emergency service number- ‘999’ among the riders. With this wonderful initiative commenced by the ride sharing platform, riders’ identification to the users will be now easier than ever.
Pathao, with the help of Chittagong Metropolitan Police distributed the stickers to the riders at Chittagong’s Agrabad Badamtoli.Tareque Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner (traffic port), Alok Biswas (Port), Chatar Tripura, additional Deputy Police Commissioner, (and additional Deputy Police Commissioner (West) and other senior officials from Chittagong Metropolitan police department were present at the event.
Ishfaue Chowdhury, Head of Operations Chittagong, Rashed Hossain, Assistant Manager, Operations and Abdul Mutaleb, Assistant Manager, Accounts were also present at the event.Pathao Limited has taken this initiative to ensure public safety and increase public awareness for emergency services from any place within 24 hours.
According to the Road Transport Act- 2018, which had been enforced from November 1, 2019, all vehicles used in the ride-sharing service must have a visible sticker containing the emergency service number ‘999’ including the guidelines to use it. Bangladesh Government introduced this National Emergency service system- 999 in 2018 for the betterment of people. Police related service, emergency ambulance service and fire services will be available from this emergency service system.
