OPPO to start selling smartphone ‘Manufactured in Bangladesh’

Global smartphone brand OPPO is all set to introduce ‘Manufactured in Bangladesh’ smartphones in Bangladeshi market. From now on local consumers can purchase OPPO handsets at a reasonable price. OPPO’s manufacturing plant in Gazipur has production capacity of 1 million units per annum.

OPPO Bangladesh is about to start producing a wide range of OPPO smartphones in Bangladesh soon. The state-of-the-art assembling will uphold the company’s ability to serve the local market with all the latest innovation that is happening in smartphone industry. This new investment from OPPO will shine the image of the country in terms of doing business in Bangladesh and also create jobs in technology.
With this new manufacturing plant in Bangladesh, OPPO now has 10 manufacturing plants around the globe.
The manufacturing plant of OPPO, under the company name of Benli Electronic Enterprise Co. Limited, has created employment opportunity for over 200 Bangladeshi nationals. The factory in Bangladesh is fully compliant with the global standards of OPPO and the company is eying on potential export opportunities. Initially, OPPO A5S and A1K will be being manufactured in the OPPO manufacturing plant in Bangladesh.
Currently there are 162.3 million mobile phone subscribers and 92.361 million mobile internet users in Bangladesh. Monthly demand for handsets stands at 1 million units. With this growing demand for smartphones in Bangladesh, OPPO has decided to start manufacturing smartphones in Bangladesh to strengthen the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for smartphones.
Regarding the opening of a manufacturing plant in Bangladesh, Managing Director of OPPO Bangladesh Mr. Damon Yang says, “Bangladesh is the fastest growing economy across the world. The country is already in leading position in terms of digitalization. Bangladesh is eying to be the early mover in adopting 5G technology. By setting up a smartphone assembly plant in Bangladesh, OPPO will be able to offer smartphones at a reasonable price and that will facilitate the revolution of high-speed internet across the country. Also, this investment from OPPO will create jobs and develop a pool of technically skilled workforce in the country.”
OPPO has been in Bangladesh for five years since 2014. OPPO has always been committed to providing outstanding quality smartphones for the smartphone users of Bangladesh. After five years of experience, OPPO has decided to set up a factory in Bangladesh to serve the customers with unmatched quality smartphones at an affordable price. Earlier this year OPPO has brought a brand new ‘A’ series 2020, A9 2020 and A5 2020 respectively. The response has been huge and there has been a shortage in supply. With the establishment of OPPO Factory in Bangladesh, OPPO is now equipped like never before to bring favorite smartphones in quickest possible time.
