Microsoft Cloud Innovation Summit: Transforming businesses and taking Bangladesh to the next level with intelligent cloud

Microsoft Cloud Innovation Summit, the first-of-a-kind tech event in Dhaka, brought together over 350 participants including developers, business and tech leaders from manufacturing and Financial Services Industries (FSI), local Microsoft partners, along with leaders and cloud experts from Microsoft APAC.

The daylong event at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city started with a keynote by Sook Hoon Cheah, President, Microsoft South East Asia New Markets (SEANM).

Emphasizing on Microsoft’s mission, Sook Hoon said, “Our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Technology is an equalizer that breaks barriers and inclusively empowers people and organizations. At Microsoft, we live our mission by making our enterprise-grade technologies and solutions accessible to anyone. We are driving this growth across the world using our intelligent cloud and intelligent edge. We also believe that empowerment and digital transformation must be inclusive thus we leave no one behind our quest for empowerment,” said Sook Hoon Cheah.

The summit explored a range of broad topics including how organizations can unlock better solutions with intelligent business applications and why cloud is the future for building a modern business. APAC cloud experts discussed ways of business transformations using Microsoft’s distinct cloud solutions- Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Azure.

The key aspects of the summit were the two breakout sessions; one on the Manufacturing Sector and the other one on the Financial Services Industry (FSI) in Bangladesh.

Zaid Alkadhi, Chief Marketing and Operations Leader, Microsoft SEANM, demonstrated how organizations can build an efficient and productive workplace using Microsoft 365 empowering teams to work from anywhere with unparallel security.

Notably, Dr. Dzahar Mansor, National Technology Officer of Microsoft Malaysia, conducted a session on security in the digital age. He explored key aspects of digital security and how Microsoft works together with organizations across the planet to build highly secured digital infrastructures. Panel discussion ‘Enabling Digital Transformation for FSI’, moderated by Dr. Dzahar with Taher Ahmed Chowdhury, DMD & CITO of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd., S.A.R. Md. Mainul Islam, Director & CTO of Lanka Bangla Securities Ltd. and Tanvir Ahmed Chowdhury, CIO of ICDDR,B in the panel, discussed how intelligent cloud can take Bangladesh to the next level.

The summit also featured an expo zone with participation of Microsoft partners: AAMRA Technologies Limited, Corporate Projukti Limited, eGeneration Limited, Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd (IT Division) and Toggi Services Limited.
