‘Cyber Security Challenge 2018’ to start for university students

To find efficient employees in cyber security, Advance Technology BD has organized ‘Cyber Security Challenge-2018’ contest for the first time in Bangladesh. The competition will be inaugurated on 2nd December 2018 at American International University-Bangladesh Campus.

28th November, 2018, Wednesday, at the BASIS Auditorium, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, ‘Cyber Security Challenge-2018’ competition was officially launched at the press meet. Mr. Emdadul Haque, General Secretary, ISPAB; Ms. Sayeda Nabila Mahbub, Lead Marketing Manager, Pathao; Mr. Muhammad Abul Khair Chowdhury, Head of Business and Strategy, iPay Systems Ltd; Mr. Mushfiqul Alam Khan, Manager (HR and Admin), Star Computer Systems Ltd (SCSL); Mr. Ibnul Karim Rupen, Senior Marketing Manager of REVE antivirus and Mr. Abdur Rahman Shawon, Convener and Coordinator, Cyber Security Challenge-2018 were present.

With the slogan ‘Be the Ultimate Security Specialist’, the contest is powered by the popular ride sharing company Pathao. The co-sponsors are iPay, Star Computer Systems limited (SCSL) and MetroNet. The strategic partners are BASIS, ISPAB and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN). The media partner of the contest will be Concito PR. The various episodes and grooming sessions will be live telecasted by Dhakalive.tv.

The coordinator of ‘Cyber Security Challenge-2018’ Mr. Abdur Rahman Shaon said that, “The students from different colleges and universities of Bangladesh will be able to participate in the contest. Meanwhile, the registration is in process for the participation in the contest. Maximum of three members in a team can take part in the contest. Cyber Security Challenge-2018 registration is open till the 12th of December.

Awareness workshops and seminars regarding cyber securities will be organized in Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Chattogram, Rangpur and Mymensingh after the inauguration in Dhaka. Online selection examination will take place among the registered students. The selected teams will take part in the finals of the contest on the 20th of December at Daffodil International University.
All members of the champion team will receive laptops as winning prize, the first runner-up team will receive smartphones and the second runner-up team will receive tablet PCs in the contest. They will also receive crest and certificates. The winning women’s team will receive special honor.

Besides, the winning team will also have the privilege to do their interns from the leading IT Company. Foreign experts along with Bangladeshi experts in cyber security will be judging the contest.
