Like Bangladesh, the onion market is beaten to the sky in India. Residents of the country are in a great dilemma to buy onions. There is screaming for onion in almost every state of the country. Onions are being sold in the country at around Rs 200-250. This is why a fashion house in Maharashtra, India, has taken different steps.
Sellers are giving onions free with sarees to grow their business. The company has offered to increase the demand for customers. However, their sales have also increased.
Indian media reported that the offer was going on in a showroom called Shital Handlooms in Thane district of Maharashtra. There are only one thousand rupees (Bangladeshi Tk. 1200) for buying a saree.
An official of Shital Handlooms said onions are being sold in Maharashtra at Rs 200 a kg. Because of this, we are giving one kg of onion free with a Saree of Rs. 1000.
