BASIS-Japan Focus Group has organized a B2B matchmaking session with 12 Japanese companies with a view to expand software and IT Enabled service related business in Japanese Market. About 50 sessions were held on Wednesday at BASIS Auditorium where 29 BASIS member companies met the Japanese companies.
It is expected that through this meeting Bangladesh will have more Japanese investment in Software and IT sector. Moreover, this will strengthen the bilateral relation between the two countries in IT sector.
BASIS and Bangladesh Mission in Japan jointly organized a conference on “Bangladesh Next” with hundreds of Japanese companies in Japan last year. BASIS President Mr. Shameem Ahsan presented the present situation and opportunity of IT sector of Bangladesh on that conference.
He urged the Japanese investors to invest in Bangladeshi IT sector. There were some proposals of organizing conferences and matchmaking sessions between the two countries to strengthen the business relation. As a part of this the matchmaking session was held at BASIS on Wednesday.
A warm reception was given to the representatives of the Japanese companies on Tuesday evening from BASIS. Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary of ICT Division, Executive Director of BCC Mr. S M Ashraful Islam, Acting President of BASIS Mr. Russell T. Ahmed and Executive Director Mr. Sami Ahmed were also present on the program.
