Xiaomi Bangladesh stands by the flood victims of Sylhet

Terrible floods have hit Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona and other northeastern areas of Bangladesh. At least 4 million people have been stranded due to heavy rains and rising tides in the northeastern regions of the country.
Most of the areas have been cut off from electricity. Moreover, a food crisis has arisen and millions of people are living in waterlogged conditions.
Children are one of the worst sufferer of this disaster. That’s why we have handed over nutrition-rich dry foods to Major General Hamidul Hoque, the General Officer Commanding of Sylhet Cantonment. These relief material are to be distributed in the remote areas of Sumanganj. Moreover, we are also distributing dry foods in the district of Netrokona.
Supplying flood-affected people with nutritious food is becoming one of the most difficult challenges at the moment. There is a constant crisis for baby food in particular. In such a devastating situation, Xiaomi, the global technology leader, has come forward in the relief work for the flood-affected children with baby food. Xiaomi is distributing relief to flood-hit northeastern regions, including Sylhet, with the help of the Bangladesh Army, especially to address the ongoing baby food crisis.
Ziauddin Chowdhury, Country Manager of Xiaomi Bangladesh said, “Millions of people have been stranded due to the catastrophic floods. All of us must come together in this critical time for the nation. We have taken the necessary steps to alleviate the food crisis in flood-prone areas, especially for children.”
“On behalf of Xiaomi Bangladesh, we are trying to extend our full cooperation during this emergency. People need to be united in such a crisis. We need unity and utmost sincerity to help the flood victims.” he added.
