Workshop on Funding Mechanism for Entrepreneurs

Workshop for startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs on fundraising techniques with the titled ‘Funding Mechanism for Entrepreneurs’ was held. Communication firm Ra’dia Inc. in association with consultancy entity Bizz Solutions Ltd. (BSL) jointly organised the event on Saturday, 24 November. The workshop was held at the Seminar Room of BSL at City Centre in Motijheel in between 3:00pm and 6:30pm. Tina F. Jabeen, Investment Advisor of Startup Bangladesh, ICT Division, GoB and successful Entrepreneur Md. Gazi Tauhidur Rahman, Managing Director of FM Plastic Industries Ltd. were the ‘Guest of Honor’. Renowned Super Star Group (SSG) presented the event.

Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, Managing Director & CEO of IIDFC Limited, Golam Monowar Kamal, Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd (BVCL), Khadem Mahmud Yusuf, Managing Director & CEO of Bangladesh Petrochemical Company Ltd (BPCL), Arif Zaman, Head, School of Business of Canadian University of Bangladesh, Ashfaq Zaman CPA, Mentor of Queen’s Young Leaders, UK and Arafatul Islam Akib, Founder of Startup Talk Chattogram took the sessions in the workshop. M Shafiqul Alam FCA, FCMA, ACS, Principal, Shafiqul Alam & Co. (Chartered Accountants) moderated the sessions.

The workshop was arranged with the aim to increase the understanding of present financing strategies and give an insight on diverse sources of funding for startup founders and young Entrepreneurs. The sessions introduced and provided resources that would support the participants for matchmaking for seed capital.

In an effort to uplift the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Bangladesh, the organisers initiated the half-day long inimitable workshop. The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs to an experience-sharing stand where attendees acquired knowledge and interact with domain experts, corporate personalities and successful entrepreneurs. Some 50 startup founders and aspiring Entrepreneurs were selected through a scrutiny process based on inclusivity, diversity and empathy between the ages of 25 to 40 were attended.

Knowledge Partners of the event were the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University and Chartered Officer Limited (COL), Strategic Partners were Entrepreneurs Club of Bangladesh (E-Club) and the Alliances Foundation Bangladesh. Youth Engagement Partners were CNI, Youth Village BD & DUEDC. Parking and Healthcare partners were NexParc and Medistore respectively. Ittefaq, jagonews24.com, BizzNews and Corporate Sangbad were the Media Partners of the workshop.
