Walton Plaza, the country’s leading electrical and electronics products sales and service provider, has introduced a cash withdrawal facility to help its instalment customers meet urgent financial needs. Under the facility, customers holding the “Instalment Customer Protection Card” can withdraw cash equivalent to one instalment in an emergency.
Customers can access the facility from any Walton Plaza outlet across Bangladesh, regardless of where they purchased their products. They can therefore visit their nearest Walton Plaza without having to return to the outlet where the purchase was made.
Walton Plaza authorities said the protection card aims to provide financial security to customers and support them during difficult times. The new facility, effective from October 1 this year, was introduced to assist customers with urgent financial needs alongside the company’s instalment sales services.
Under the “Instalment Customer and Family Protection Policy”, if a protection cardholder dies while their instalments are ongoing, Walton Plaza provides their family with financial assistance ranging from Tk 50,000 to Tk 3 lakh, based on the value of the purchased product.
If a member of the customer’s family dies, the assistance ranges from Tk 25,000 to Tk 1.5 lakh. In the event of the cardholder’s death, the outstanding instalments on the product are also waived. Walton Plaza also arranges employment for eligible family members of deceased customers.
Protection cardholders receive special benefits in areas including healthcare, education, travel, shopping and entertainment. To provide these benefits, Walton Plaza has agreements with more than 5,000 partner organisations across the country’s eight divisions.
These partners include hospitals and diagnostic centres, educational institutions, hotels and restaurants, resorts and amusement parks, airlines, and retailers of fashion and everyday products.
Walton Plaza also operates telemedicine and Happiness and Healthcare programmes for customers and their families. Its field-level officials assist customers with hospital admission and transport, arranging blood, and obtaining medical advice.
