Walton gets champion award in green hi-tech industry

Country’s super brand and electronics giant Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited received ‘Green Inclusive Business Champions Award- 2021’.

Walton secured the award in the category of environment-friendly green hi-tech industry as the recognition of its outstanding contribution to the environment as well as transition to a modern, resource-efficient and inclusiveness, fair and competitive economy.
The domestic electronics giant was honoured with the green hi-tech industry award at the award giving ceremony of ‘Green Inclusive Business Champions Award-2021’ held at Bangladesh Shooting Federation in the capital on Tuesday last (January 11, 2022).
Attending as the chief guest at the function, Planning Minister MA Mannan handed over the award to Walton Hi-Tech Industries’ Deputy Managing Director Alamgir Alam Sarker and Walton Compressor’s Chief Business Officer Md. Robiul Alam.
Walton is strongly committed to ensure a livable as well as suitable environment for the future generation. And thus, Walton Hi-Tech Industries’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Golam Murshed took an initiative titled ‘Better Bangladesh Tomorrow. The activities under this initiative is contributing to achieve the ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’.
To celebrate the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence as well as the birth centenary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman throughout the country, Green Tech Foundation Bangladesh in collaboration with the Sustainable Finance Division of Bangladesh Bank organised the green and sustainable startup business idea based competition.
The objective of organising the competition called ‘Green Inclusive Business Champions Award -2021’ was to identify and recognise the pioneers of green development in Bangladesh, who showed environmental leadership and dedication for the first time in their sectors.
