Uber, the world’s largest on-demand ridesharing company, today announced the launch of operations in Sylhet. Uber rode into Sylhet with one of their most popular products UberMOTO. Bangladesh is currently the largest Moto market in the Uber universe and the Sylhet launch is a reiteration of the popularity of the product.
In November 2018 Uber announced, that with more than 100,000 driver partners, nearly 2,500 weekly sign ups to drive on Uber, Bangladesh is expected to contribute 25% of Uber’s growth in the region in 2019. On average, you can find an Uber in less than 5 minutes in both Dhaka and Chittagong and 13% of Uber’s rider base now use Uber almost 6 times a week. The launch in Sylhet further reiterates Uber’s commitment to Bangladesh.
