The Hon’ble Minister of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Imran Ahmad, M.P. has officially launched the Cloud-Based Automation System “Recruiting Agencies Information Management System (RAIMS)”. Systech Digital Limited develops this system. It was inaugurated today, March 27, 2021 at an event held at a hotel in the capital. Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, secretary of the Ministry was present there as a special guest. Among others present on the event were Suzan Mailer, Head of Cooperation, SDC, Maurizio Sian, EU Representative in Bangladesh, Tumo Pausenin, Country Director, ILO Dhaka, and Mr. Md. Mohammad Ali, Director General, BMET. Shamsul Alam, officials of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and representatives of BMET and other related organizations.
Inaugurating the RAIMS, the Hon’ble Minister said that by using this system, individuals and recruiting agencies who want to go abroad would get accurate information and protect themselves from fraud brokers. He placed special emphasis on the use of this system.
Note that, RAIMS is a cloud-based automation system that provides the necessary information of more than 1,600 expatriate recruitment agencies in Bangladesh and their all kind of previous performance record of sending workers abroad. This information management software provides instant updated data that allows BMET, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, employers and migrant workers to make their right decisions. The main benefits of using this system are – updated information of employers, licensing information of organizations, information of authorized representatives, information of foreign representatives, information of branches, information of sending workers, information of training centers, performance appraisal and record of complains and arrangement of agencies and automated notification system.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) implemented it.
