Robi Axiata receives Unified license

Robi Axiata Limited, the country’s top 4.5G telecom service provider, has received unified license from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The term of the unified license is 15 years, with which Robi Axiata Limited can provide all types of wireless mobile services including 5G.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak officially handed over the license to Robi Axiata’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam at the Commission’s office on Monday.

Shahed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer, Robi Axiata Limited said in a response, “We are delighted to receive the unified license from the Honorable Minister.

We highly appreciate our regulator, BTRC, for the timely initiative of introducing a unified licensing regime- Bangladesh enters into the era of technology neutral services with this historic step.”

BTRC Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed and senior officials of the commission and three operators were present at the license handing over ceremony.
