Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said no one would be allowed to use mobile phone and to telecast live inside polling centers on the day of the 11th general elections.
CEC came up with the statement at a news conference from Election Commission (EC) media center on Saturday (December 15).
Huda said today’s discussion includes electoral conduct, rules and regulations, center management, facilities and functions of observers and journalists.
KM Nurul Huda said, “No live telecast will be allowed from polling centers. But they can air live telecast from outside of the polling centers.”
“Journalists can visit the polling centers on a limited scale keeping in mind about drawback of voters, but cannot stay inside the polling centers for long,” KM Nurul Huda also said
Use of mobile phone is prohibited inside the polling centers. The decision, however, regarding mobile banking and internet speed is not taken yet, CEC said.
