Mahiya Mahi was questioned at airport

Following the fall of the Awami League government, party leaders and activists are facing fears of legal repercussions. Many who had been active in supporting the party for the past 16 years are now in hiding. Those who are not yet hiding are either being arrested in various cases or attempting to leave the country.

In this tense atmosphere, concerns have emerged for some celebrities, particularly those who were involved in Awami League politics. Among them is Dhallywood star Mahiya Mahi, who served as the joint general secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and was nominated by the party for the 12th National Assembly elections. Mahi was also active in various campaign events for Awami League.

Since the change in government, Mahi has been notably absent from public view, with her last appearance on social media dating back to August 5.

In a recent incident, Mahiya Mahi was questioned by security personnel at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while attempting to leave the country. She was held for about an hour and a half and faced inquiries from intelligence agencies.
