imo rolls out Passkeys, offering extra layer of security

Popular instant communication platform imo has recently launched the “Passkeys” feature, leveraging a robust asymmetric cryptography technology.

Ensuring a high-quality and safe security system, imo is allowing its users the opportunity to use their face, fingerprint, or PIN to conveniently unlock their account!

Passkeys offer password-less login in the app where users can unlock their accounts using biometrics such as fingerprints, face recognition, or a PIN.

Opening the gateway to simpler, quicker, and more secure access to a service or app, Passkeys represents a new standard of seamless authentication. To use this feature on imo during login, users can easily utilize their biometric information.

The information is not sent to the login service, ensuring both user privacy and a simplified login process.

Due to the top-notch asymmetric cryptography technology, malicious websites and social engineering scams are not able to trick users into disclosing their Passkeys.

Besides, the very nature of the technology is to use users’ fingerprints and facial recognition to verify identity, thereby mitigating security concerns of the users.

When it comes to usability, imo’s “Passkeys Authentication” feature not only makes the login process hassle-free but also eliminates the need for any form of secondary authentication.

Additionally, it brings in a new level of seamless communication process, removing the burden of password memorization, and alleviating concerns about receiving SMS codes across borders.

Globally, numerous companies have embraced the Passkeys technology, aimed at eliminating the tedious SMS-based two-factor authentication. imo has become a part of this global shift, leading a new era of global communication.
