Huawei’s 20 Years journey in Bangladesh

Leading global ICT solutions provider Huawei has passed 20 years in Bangladesh starting from 1998. During this time, Huawei played a leading role in making digital Bangladesh. ‍Specially Huawei played pioneering role in demonstrating 5G in Bangladesh.In future, the company wants to be a partner in the advancement of Bangladesh.Through dedication, Huawei wants to be an active part of the government’s ‘Vision 2021’.

Huawei believes in empowering local skilled people.  So,85% of its total employees are from Bangladeshis. To give better service in Bangladesh, Huawei has 7 offices, 14 Terminal Service Centers (Consumer Business) and 350+ Smartphone Brand Shops. Besides that Huawei Bangladesh chose Shakib Al Hasan, the no. 1 all-rounder cricketer as its brand ambassador.

In global perspective this company has more than 180,000 employees, 36 Joint Innovation Centers, 14 R&D centers and operates in more than 170 countries and regions. It was founded in 1987. The company’s current revenue is 92.55 billion dollar and it has become 72nd in Fortune’s 500 Global list which was 83rd in previous year. The tech-giant has invested about $60 billion in R&D from 2008 to 2017. It also has 74,307 patents and is a member of 360+ standards organizations, industry alliances, and open source communities.

Huawei played pioneering role in deploying 3G and 4G in Bangladesh. The company is also working on the implementation of 5G technology. Huawei has already demonstrated 5G successfully in different countries including Bangladesh. 5G is gaining massive positive response worldwide. On 25th July, 2018, government’s ICT division, Huawei and another telecom operator demonstrated 5G in the country which was inaugurated by Mr. SajeebWazed Joy, Honorable Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser. In that program, he praised Huawei for demonstrating 5G with its amazing technology.
