Google urges to enrich Bangla content online

Google is working to enrich Bangla translator. It is very important to increasing the number of Bangla websites online as well as local contents there.

Google Senior Programme Manager Linne Ha said at a conference on Google in Bangladesh at Digital World at BICC on Monday. Over 300 tech people attended the conference at the Digital World.

Google always believes in innovation. There are many projects here from Google. Like: Translate- a-thon, Map-up, Street view as well as coding on API. All of these are open sources item. Anyone can contribute on these from anywhere from the Country.

Knowledge graph is one of the most important project of Google that will connect real-time information as well as related content,” Linne Ha added.

“There are 6,000 plus language in the world those has only 75.8 per cent in written format. The simple system of Google speech is converting audio to text through ASR system. We have speech to speech conversion in our software. Through this anyone can get output in selected language by inputting in native,” Google Speech Software Engineer Ravi Razkumar told the session.

ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the programme as a participant and delivered his speech at the end of the meeting.

State Minister thanked Google for introducing Google Bus in Bangladesh and said that Government is very happy to connect with Google bus and very hopeful to reach 5 lakh student with internet literacy.

“For first time in world we have introduced dedicated community group for a language like Bangla,” Google Country Engineering Consultant Khan Anwarus Salam said.

He urged all to contribute with Google Developer Group Bangla.

Bangladeshi Google Official n Awarus Viki Russel hosted the event while Bangladeshi Country Engineering Consultant Khan Anwarus Salam presided over the meeting.
