edotco strengthens presence in Bangladesh with new leadership

edotco Group Sdn Bhd (“edotco”), an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services provider, announces the appointment of Ricky Steyn as the new Country Managing Director of edotco Bangladesh. Under this new leadership, edotco is set to reinforce its commitment and grow its presence in the nation through the provision of innovative next generation telecommunication solutions and continued service delivery excellence to its customers. Leading an experienced team, this new appointment reaffirms edotco’s commitment to playing a significant role in digitally enabling the country towards being 5G ready.

“Bangladesh’s digital transformation journey is moving at a fast pace. With numerous services now digitalized, we are certain that we can play a key role in ensuring the right sharable infrastructure is in place to drive this growth further. The right infrastructure in a growing economy like this is key in ensuring reliable and fast network services, and independent infrastructure companies like us are well positioned to facilitate and manage this development. We will continue to push for the adoption of next generation technologies such as smart city solutions across the country, infrastructure that is 5G ready and able to meet increasing capacity requirements.  We are fully committed to partnering the country towards meeting its digital ambitions,” said Ricky.

With over 24 years, of telecommunications experience, Ricky specializes in service delivery for both active and passive infrastructure across three different continents. Prior to joining Bangladesh, Ricky was the Director of Engineering in Myanmar for the past four years. Under this leadership, the engineering team in Myanmar successfully delivered build-to-suit rolls outs for major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the country, as well as deployed various new innovative renewable energy solutions.

This appointment further reiterates edotco’s focus in solidifying its presence in the country and growing its footprint across the region. edotco Group currently owns and manages over 31,800 towers across the eight countries in which they have a presence.
