The Great British Food Festival will be inaugurated by Robert Chatterton Dickson, British High Commissioner on April 28, 2019. The festival menu will be crafted and prepared by Executive Chef, Austen Reid and he will be preparing the recipes with exclusive British ingredients.
There will be a series of delicious foods like Mini classic prawn cocktails, seared tuna bloody Mary’s celery salt, Cullen skink soup with chive Chantilly and spring onion and parsley oil, deep fried fish andchips with tartare sauce and fresh lemon, Scotch quail eggs with parsley remoulade, Cranachan, sticky toffee pudding, Bakewell tart, and chocolate bread and butter pudding. There will also be a roast corner where the Chef will serve roasted leg of lamb, beef rib, carrot and potato fondants, horseradish and mustards.
On this occasion, Constantinos S. Gavriel, General Manager, Le Méridien Dhaka said, “British dishes
portray the sumptuousness of the cuisines as well as the heritage of the royal state. The festival will
create a great opportunity for city dwellers to enjoy the authentic taste of British cuisine.”
Meanwhile, the Latest Recipe will be decorated with British theme like London Bridge, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and flags of the four nations which is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Various British music will be playing throughout the whole festival like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Oasis, The Proclaimers, Elton John, The Kinks, Van Morrison, Ed Sheeran, and Kiesza.
