A Web based Crowdfunding platform FundSME.com.bd has launched at BASIS auditorium today. This is the first entrepreneur-investors online platform of Bangladesh. This initiative has come with the country’s renowned venture capital firm BDVenture Limited. 26th September, FundSME was inaugurated in the BASIS Auditorium of Karwar Bazar by the company’s Chairman M. EhsanulHaque, BASISChairman Syed Almas Kabir and other prominent industry personalities. In the opening ceremony, M. Ehsanul said, many young have ideas to change the country though business, they have qualifications, but they may not be able to start or move on due to lack of financial capabilities. Besides, there are many solvent people who once wanted to do business but could not make due to many restrictions. Nowadays, they want to invest in another business, want to taste the business, alsowant to take the country forward. Combining these two parties is main objective of FundSME.
At the function, BASIS Chairman Syed Almas Kabirstated that ICT-based platform FundSME.com.bd as a landmark platform for the country. In his speech, he said that entrepreneurs will have to come forward with new ideas for the country’s progress and they need to be developed with the help of the investors. BASIS will continue to take care of this initiative. On this occasion, Managing Director of Green Delta Insurance, Farzana Chowdhury symbolized FundSME.com.bd as a revolutionaryplatform and said that this platform will have thousands of entrepreneurial prospects for the country. Entrepreneurs who do not have strong backup, they will also be able to get one or more investors by showing his ideas and performance.
At the beginning of the ceremony, details of FundSMEwas described byShawkat Hossain, Managing Director of BDVenture Limited. He has said that ‘many Crowdfunding companies are successfullyworking abroad. We hope that our initiative will help implementing new entrepreneurs’ dreams in Bangladesh’. He further said, interested people will be able to register their initiatives from today and newer features will be added day by day.
Around 50 entrepreneurs joined in the ceremony. They have shared their investment related problems and their dreams in their speeches. They believe that FUNDSME platform will be able to solve financial problems to continue their business and to make business big. They call this FundSME a ladder to meet their dreams.
MunirHasan, Youth Coordinator of ProthoAloand General Manager of Bangladesh Open Source Network, has encouraged new entrepreneurs and investors to showcase their ventures in the platform as soon as possible. He also told young people to take risks and proceed to success.
