Comilla Victorians gets Huawei beside in BPL again

The sixth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will kick off on January 5. The world’s top tech company Huawei has become the platinum sponsor of Comilla Victorians, one of the seven participating teams. With this, Huawei has become the team’s platinum sponsor for the third time. The jerseys of the team will be emblazoned with the Huawei logo as they are all set for their first match against Sylhet Sixers on January 6.

Huawei’s marriage with sports is nothing new. The world’s number one cricket all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is the brand ambassador of Huawei Bangladesh. Last year, Huawei stood beside Bangladesh Volleyball Federation in Bangabandhu International Volleyball Championship Tournament. In addition to the international arena, Huawei came up with sponsorship on the local level such as the inter-departmental cricket tournament of Jahangirnagar University. This time Huawei becomes the sponsor of Comilla Victorians in BPL like previous years. The purpose is to strengthen Huawei’s relationship with sports.

Speaking on this sponsorship, Kelvin Yang, Country Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group (Bangladesh) said, “Cricket is the most popular game in Bangladesh. BPL is a wonderful platform for cricket. Huawei is proud to stay beside this sparkling hub of cricketers from home and abroad. We are also keen to stay beside sports in the days to come.”

Comilla Victorians, the runner-up of the last season and the champion of the third season, will be led by Tamim Iqbal. The team also features other stars like Steve Smith, Shoaib Malik, ThisaraPerera, Shahid Afridi, ImrulKayes, Mohammad Saifuddin and Abu Hider Rony.
