BASIS Standing Committees pledge to contribute to the development of ICT sector

The leaders all standing committees of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) stated their commitment to work for the development of ICT sector by executing significant works in their respective subsectors. This was stated at the inaugural meeting, titled ‘Kick-off Meeting,’ of BASIS Advisory Standing Committee, 21 subsector-based standing committees and various forums with the BASIS Executive Council at a hotel in the capital on Sunday.

During the meeting, BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed said, “We need to work together to implement the targets set by the government for the development of the country’s ICT sector. All the members of the newly formed BASIS standing committees of have willingness, capability and commitment to work for the development of this sector.”

“It is possible to make a significant contribution if everyone carries out their duties with due diligence. If each committee does one significant work, then the whole image of this sector will change successively,” he added.

The leaders of all the BASIS standing committees present at the meeting responded to the President’s call and expressed their determination to do at least one significant work from each committee in the next two years.

The meeting was attended by BASIS Executive Committee Senior Vice President Samira Zuberi Himika, Vice President (Administration) Abu Daud Khan, Vice President (Finance) Fahim Ahmed, Directors- AKM Ahmedul Islam BABU, Mushfiqur Rahman, Syed Muhammad Kamal, Tanvir Hossain Khan, Mostafizur Rahman Sohel, Rashad Kabir along with the Advisory Standing Committee of BASIS, and the chairmen and co-chairmen of all standing committees and forums.
