Rational Technologies Ltd., the creators of Lokkhi.io – Bangladesh’s only real time communication platform has launched a new product LOKKHI PUBLIC – a free communication portal on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at AIUB Auditorium.
A seminar titled “From Ideas to Products – How smart ideas, technology and hard work lead to great products – Lokkhi.io” was held at American International University Bangladesh Auditorium today, 2 December 2014 with the presence of hundreds of students of AIUB, educators and Journalists. Guest speaker panel included Mr. Muhammad Khan, President, Bangladesh IT Journalists Forum (BIJF) and Saquib Chowdhury (MD), Tashfin Delwar (COO) and Ataul Mukit (CTO) from Rational Technologies Ltd.

Ataul Mukit, Chief Architect @ Lokkhi spoke about Software Architecture: The Blueprint for Great Software and Its Practical Applications, Saquib Chowdhury, spoke about Lokkhi.io: How A Simple Idea Became A Great Product and Mr. Mr. Muhammad Khan, President, Bangladesh IT Journalists Forum (BIJF) encouraged the audience with his speech on IT in Bangladesh: Hope For The Future. Each presentation is followed by a short question and answer session. Lastly there was launching of Lokkhi Public Chat by the Special Guest and the AIUB Community.
Lokkhi Public (https://lokkhi.io/public) is a free web based portal that you can access from any latest html5 supported browsers and from any devices including Desktop/laptop/Mobile/Tabs/Android Phone/iPhone/iPad. With Bangla auto suggestion tool anybody can easily chat in Bangla. You can chat with anyone connected in public or in private or in group. The block feature allows you to turn off unwanted users, also you can share images or emoticons and 6 seconds voice recording in chat easily. In addition to that there is a viewer where you can view and share images, video, audio songs and office documents& pdf. The SoundCloud Music search & streaming service built into the site so that you can listen to music and chat at the same time, also you can share the music if you like with others.
Tashfin Delwar the technology mastermind of Lokkhi.io has said “We see a big gap in online communication, there is no open chatting portal in Bangladesh that can serve your communication need. Social networks are limited to your closed network and there are a few flash based and irc channels which are not accepted in wide network. With our portal, No need to download or install anything, just open your browser because every internet enabled device has one and type the url and you are there. In addition to that there is no sign up required, enter your name and other details first time and from next time the intelligent site will remember your device and you don’t need to enter details again. The site will ask for your location so that you can find your nearby users and communicate with them includingwhat distance away your nearby users are. Offline messaging allows you to send a message to a contact even if he/she is offline, when they are online they can view the messages. The notification system will notify of new messages and you can drag, arrange, maximize window like containers at your convenience.

So it can bridge the app built for any device with the web app.
Saquib Chowdhury, MD of RTL said, “There is no such public communication portal available now. It’s free for use. But we can customize and license it exclusively for organizations who like to use it as their internal communication hub.”
