Awami League’s manifesto and ICT sector

Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today promised to build more youth centric ict field and more development in the sector.

Ruling Awami League in its election manifesto today pledged to create 1.5 crore new jobs by 2023 and review scopes to enhance the age limit for recruitment in government services.

The government has already been providing Taka 200,000 as credit facilities to each person on easy term basis without any collateral through the Karmasangsthan Bank aiming at creating self-employment and youth entrepreneurs, she said, adding that it will be further expanded in the future.

A ‘Young Entrepreneur Policy’ will be formulated to encourage the youth for becoming entrepreneur and ‘Youth Entertainment Center’ will be set up at each upazila, Sheikh Hasina said.

AL will launch a ‘Youth Plan’ to allow the youths to get information technology services, including internet at reduced cost while government drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation center will be built at each upazila to save the youths from drug abuse, she said.

IT parks will be established in each divisional city where a huge number of youths will be employed in next five years. AL will introduce 5-G by 2021-23. The price of internet and mobile usage will be reduced to a reasonable level. Internet price will be lower.
