Announcement of the election manifesto of The Change Makers’ Panel

The Change Makers’ Panel, which began its journey with the pledge of positive change in the 2022-2024 elections of the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), has announced its draft election manifesto. On May 31, 2022, in the presence of more than 100 e-CAB members, the draft election manifesto was officially announced at a local restaurant in the capital for the elections to be held on June 18.

The Change Makers has announced the draft manifesto to bring e-CAB to the leading stage
members, policymakers and the media. In the manifesto, the panel members have pledged to keep e-CAB members at the center of all activities, taking into account the “core strength” of the organization. At this time, while talking about the current problem, they said that there is no office suitable for e-cab members to use in that sense. It is not possible to provide the necessary services to the members from the e-cab secretariat most of the time. The participation of members in various activities of e-CAB is almost non-existent. People’s confidence in the e-commerce sector has become low due to sponsorships in various activities from many of the companies in question. The members do not get much cooperation from the e-CAB on the issue of tax VAT. If The Change Makers are elected, effective efforts will be taken to solve all of these problems.

According to the panel, after being elected, they want to gift a structured office for the members with conference room, lounge facility in the first place. They plan to appoint an Executive Director or Chief Executive Officer by 2023 to strengthen the secretariat. The members pledged to work with Bangladesh Bank on equity financing in addition to option for collateral-free loans or investments from at least six banks. At this time, it was announced to set up a specific resource center to support income tax and VAT issues.

In the first 100 days, it was announced to set up incubation centers for members, where there will be training as well as mentoring for members. Plans for an e-commerce expo at the end of the year were announced at the event. It has been promised that 1 percent of the government procurement process will be collected for e-CAB members.

The draft manifesto was presented to the members at a restaurant in Dhanmondi by Zeeshan Kingshuk Haque, a member of ‘The Change Makers’ Panel. He also announced changes in the rules of the organization that if someone is elected twice in a row in the future, he will be considered ineligible to be a candidate in the election.

Earlier, all the panel members highlighted their responsibilities one by one under the guidance of panel candidate Biplob Ghosh Rahul.
The members of the panel are- Shafquat Haider (Ciproco Computer), Waseem Alim (BanglaMeds), Md. Tashdik Habib (Cleanforce), Zeeshan Kingshuk Haque (RTS Enterprise), Mozammel Haque Mridha (Kinley. com), Abu Sufian Nilove (NijolCreative), Biplob Ghosh Rahul (eCourier), Ilmul Haque Sajib (Sheba. xyz) and Nusrat Akhtar Lopa (Hur Nusrat).
Among others, BASIS Director Ahmedul Islam Babu, BDOSN General Secretary Munir Hasan, Head of E-Commerce, A2I Rezwanul Haque Jami and others spoke on the occasion.
