Airtel wins Mobile Money and Digital Payments Awards

Airtel Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing telecom operator in Bangladesh hasrecently wonthe prestigious Mobile Money and Digital Payments Global Awards, 2014’. Airtel has won the awardin the category of “Collaboration Commendation” for their exceptional mobile banking service in Bangladesh. The award ceremony was held in Istanbul, Turkey on the 20th November 2014.

Airtel is the only organization from Bangladesh who got awarded for the award this year. Other participants for “Collaboration Commendation” category were UBank Pakistan and Citibank Global.Companies like Vodafone Turkey & TMOB, Ericsson, Westpack also won awards in other categories this year.

For Airtel Customers all possible mobile banking services are bundled under a common USSD short code of *400#. By dialing this number, customers can avail mobile banking services of different banks under one short code. This unique feature of USSD along with different innovative services offered by airtel in collaboration with the banking partners haswon the company this prestigious feat.

Every year the global leaders in mobile banking get recognized through this award for their achievements in driving the uptake of mobile financial services across the globe. Some notable organizations who achieved this award last year were Citi Mobile, Etisalat & MasterCard, Tigo Cash, Safaricom among few others.
