‘AamaarBhasarCholochchitro 1425’ kicks off

AamaarBhasarCholochchitro 1425, the biggest festival of Bangla films, was officially inaugurated at TSC Auditorium of University of Dhaka today. Mustafa Jabbar,Honorable Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministerinaugurated the festival attending as the Chief Guest. Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) is organizing the festival in collaboration with Banglalink this year. Professor Dr. AAMS ArefinSiddique, Former Vice Chancellor, Dhaka University & Moderator, Dhaka University Film Society and eminent film-maker Nasir Uddin YousufBacchu were present at the event as the Special Guests. Also present at the event were Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink, MNurul Alam, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Banglalink, QaziUrfi Ahmad,Brands & Communications Director, Banglalink and Mohammed Kashadul Haque, Head of Brand, Marketing, Banglalink.

16 films and 4 short-films will be exhibited in the five-day long festival this year. The best Bangladeshi film released in 2018 will be awarded the ‘HiralalSenPadak’. In total, 6 films – Debi, Komola Rocket, Jonmobhumi, Pathshala, SonatanGolpo and MatirProjarDeshe – have been primarily nominated for the award. In addition to the film exhibition, a seminar and a Bangla film poster exhibition will be held at the festival this year.

Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalinksaid, “We are really delighted to be a part of this great initiative. There cannot be any doubt that our film-makers are capable of makingtruly world-class films. This festival gives the audience a great opportunity to watch the true mastery of our film-makers. Banglalink has always been committed to promoting the indigenous culture of the country, and our association with this festival reflects that commitment.”

Banglalink will continue to promote the indigenous culture of the country through itsinvolvement with such initiatives in future as well.
