A half-thousand students to take part in Bangladesh ICT Skills Competition

The first phase of Bangladesh ICT Skills Competition has been started with more than 500 students from around 30 engineering universities. All these students will be having free online courses through dedicated online platform, managed by Huawei.

The participants are given two weeks for online learning in the preliminary round, and an exam will take place on February 19, 2021 to evaluate their consistent and effective learning. The exam will consist MCQ, true-false kind questions. Top 20 qualifying universities will be selected to partake in the Semi-Final round, where they will be provided with Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) R&S Training for two weeks, and the exam will transpire on March 4, 2021. Subsequently, the top 10 teams will be nominated for the country final, which will ensue on March 18, 2021, in the form of E-Lab Practice.

After seeing the enormous participation from the last year students of engineering departments, the President of Enterprise Business Group of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited, Yang Guobing says, “We have got enthusiastic participation from the students. And that is a great reflection of their desire for advanced knowledge and opportunities. Youth are the key driver of nation’s growth. We need to empower the students with a collaborative effort whenever we can. Hence, we are pleased to initiate multiple competition, strengthening the youth’s knowledge in the technology sector. We are working continuously with Bangladesh’s government to promote digitalization and youth skill development,”

Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) to launch numerous ICT competition for university students three months back.
