A Dynamic Showcase of Youth Empowerment and Innovation for Social Change

The vibrant spirit of youth and the essence of tradition converged at the JCI Carnival and 2024 Inauguration Ceremony, an annual extraordinary event hosted by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh.

It exemplified JCI’s commitment to transforming young minds into powerful change agents of society, as two-thirds of Bangladesh’s population is young.

JCI Bangladesh, with its 5,000+ members and 40 local chapters, is more than just an organisation; it’s a vibrant movement of young, passionate individuals committed to creating substantial, tangible changes in their communities and the nation.

This grand event, held at Greenville Outdoor in Dhaka on January 27, 2024, unfolded as a day-long celebration that brought together around 6,000 members and guests. It served as a platform for members, their families, and friends to connect, indulge in a traditional Mezban meal, and experience Bangladesh’s rich traditions, culture, and opportunities of networking and discussion for social change.

JCI Bangladesh National President Imran Kadir, presiding over the event, expressed the significance of the carnival and its transformative impact on members’ lives. He emphasized the organisation’s commitment to multifaceted youth development and creating efficient leaders through such events.

In a statement, President Imran Kadir said, “JCI Bangladesh is on a mission to enhance its brand, aspiring to become the leading network for young, active citizens. Through impactful activities focused on leadership development and community engagement, the organisation aims to inspire and empower young people to be agents of positive change.”

The event started with many activities, including networking sessions, a kid’s carnival, a captivating puppet show, and the delightful Pitha Uthshob. The atmosphere was brimming with energy as participants engaged in games, fostering a sense of camaraderie and joy. The following cultural competition showcased JCI Bangladesh members’ talents from 35 chapters, presenting a dazzling array of entertainment, including songs, dances, and recitations. The pinnacle of the event was the inauguration ceremony of the 2024 National Committee, where each member of the National Executive Committee was introduced in a grand ceremony.

The whole-day event ended with the popular band Miles’s performance. The event had Toggi Fun World as the associate partner and Jamuna Electronics & Automobiles Limited, along with Kazi Printing Accessories Limited, as Gold Partners.

JCI Bangladesh National Treasurer Kazi Fahad, serving as the event director, and National Secretary General Fahim Ahmed, co-convener, played crucial roles in orchestrating the success of the day-long event.

Treasurer Kazi Fahad said, “Through activities like this, JCI Bangladesh seeks to make its name synonymous with youth empowerment and active citizenship by collaborating with like-minded organisations and hosting engaging community events. We want to motivate young individuals to join and contribute to meaningful social change.”

Niaz Morshed Elite, founder and general secretary of the JCI Bangladesh Foundation, congratulated the organisation on its growth and success, describing JCI Bangladesh as the largest youth organisation in the country.

The JCI Carnival and 2024 Inauguration Ceremony not only celebrated the vibrancy of youth but also set the stage for a year of impactful initiatives and leadership under the new committee. With a commitment to building a quality society, JCI Bangladesh continues to play a pivotal role in empowering the youth and shaping a brighter future for Bangladesh.

In 2024, JCI Bangladesh is set to redefine social impact through a series of innovative activities deeply rooted in the ethos of youth and community empowerment, networking, and technological advancement. These initiatives are strategically designed to address critical social issues while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing to the vision of a smart Bangladesh.

The silver sponsors for this event include Qcoom, CBC Tiles, Anwar Group, City Bank, Mitsubishi Motors, RAM Ceramics, Rangpur Riders, Real Star Properties, Provati Insurance Company Limited, Mokam, Carnival Internet, RR Kabel, Indet.Group, BNO Lubricants, and RUN Leather.

Founded in 1915, JCI is a global force for young individuals aged 18 to 40, spanning approximately 124 countries.

Holding a prestigious consultative status with vital international bodies like the Council of Europe and UNESCO, JCI is a dynamic platform for young leaders to drive meaningful change.

JCI Bangladesh stands out as a vital force in this global movement, nurturing proactive citizenship and addressing a spectrum of issues from technology to health.
