Walton targets to sell out 20 lakh fridges in 2019

The Bangladeshi multinational brand Walton has set a target of achieving another milestone in the local fridge market through selling out 20 lakh fridges in 2019. The company started the new year with the theme- ’19 A 20’.

Walton officials informed that they sold out around 15 lakh units of fridges last year. Now, they are holding nearly 75 percent market share in the local fridge market.

To achieve the target of ‘19 A 20,’ the local brand undertook massive preparations from its production process like manufacturing world-class energy saving and eco-friendly global models’ frost and non-frost refrigerators with advanced technologies and machineries, formulating timely marketing strategies and strengthening its sales networks consisting of plaza, distributor, online, corporate and international sales network.

Uday Hakim, deputy executive director of Walton Group, hoped that 2019 would be a year of achieving a big milestone for Walton.

This year, the local multinational brand started its journey of becoming the best global player and thus a road map was prepared, he said.

Walton planned to release world’s latest technology’s global models of refrigerator to the market at affordable rates, he noted.

Md. Amdadul Hoque Sarkar, executive director and head of sales of Walton, said that they are registering about 30 percent growth sales growth in every year.

In 2019, Walton set a challenging target of selling out 20 lakh units of fridges in the local market, he noted.

To meet their target successfully, they will release more than 150 models of frost and non-frost refrigerators with lucrative and innovative designs in the market, he said.

According to Walton, the local brand is exporting ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labelled highest standard refrigerators in different countries of the Asian, Middle Eastern and African regions.

Now, Walton have greatly focused on exporting to the potential markets of the world’s developed nations like Australia, America and Europe, he added.

Targeting the global market, Walton is participating and showcasing its products and services in many international business conferences, trade fairs etc. Walton already took part in Canton Fair in China, Logos Fair in Nigeria, Electronic Fair in UAE and Kenya (KITE); most recently Chillventa Exhibition in Germany and now planning to attend world’s popular consumer electronics festivals including IFA fair in Berlin and CES in Las Vegas.
