Walton MD’s initiatives to ensure suitable environment for future generations

Bangladeshi electronics giant Walton has firm determination to build a suitable environment for future generations. In this regard, Golam Murshed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, has taken various steps through his initiative ‘Better Bangladesh Tomorrow’. Under the initiative, Walton is working in a planned way to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Concerned believe that this initiative will set an example in private sector.

On Monday (November 1, 2021) an event titled ‘Understanding SDGs: Setting Strategic Site for Sustainable Practices 2021’ was held at Walton corporate office in Dhaka. Detail plans on the implementation of SDGs have been placed in front of Walton high-ups at the event. Golam Murshed gave them necessary directions to ensure a suitable and livable world for the future generations through environmental protection.
Wishing success of the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), Golam Murshed said: This conference is very important to address the challenges related to the climate change crises worldwide. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Climate Parliament are very sincere in protecting the environment. Walton expressed solidarity with them in this connection.
He also said that besides conducting business, Walton is also working for the welfare of the people, the environment, and the country simultaneously. We will do everything necessary to ensure a livable world for the upcoming generations.
The Walton MD and CEO opined that the people who do not think about protecting the environment, do not treat others well or unaware of the future of the world are the disabled.
If we cannot create a sound world for future generations, we are mentally disabled. We should change ourselves first. If we do not change ourselves, our surroundings will not be changed. We have to think and act on what will be good for ourselves and the world, he added.
The program was ended with a pleasant musical event.
