Rider Mela will create 20,000 new employment

In a view to create 20,000 new employment opportunities, Bdjobs.com is going to organize ‘Rider Mela’ at the four different places in Dhaka.

Leading job portal in the country, Bdjobs.com has taken this initiative to cater the increasing demand of the e-commerce and the logistic sector. Leading e-commerce and logistics companies will recruit riders through face-to-face interview from this fair.

The first event will take place at the Setara Convention Hall, Mirpur on May 23. After that at Celebrity Convention Hall, Dhanmondi on May 26, at Kamrul Convention Hall, Uttar Badda on June 06 and at Polwel Convention Hall, Uttara on June 08.

Mr. Prokash Roy Chowdhury, Marketing Director of Bdjobs.com said in a press conference Thursday that during the COVID 19 pandemic, while almost all the companies stopped recruiting people, e-commerce and logistics companies recruited lots of delivery riders to reach their products to their customers’ door steps.

Many graduates have worked as rider and earned money in this time. Now delivery rider has become a prestigious profession. Currently, over 2 lacs delivery riders have been working with different e-commerce and logistics companies across the country. There are opportunities to work as freelance riders as well.

Mr. Chowdhury added, now a days, delivery services have been available upto the Upazila towns. Anyone can earn upto 25 to 30 thousand taka if he has a motor bike or bi-cycle. Around 30 leading companies including Food Panda, Chaldal.com, KFC, Pizza Hut, Pickaboo, Uber, Jachai.com and Delivery Tiger will take part in this Rider Mela.

Among other, Mr. Imrul Kayesh, Mr. Anamul Hasan, Mr. Shoeb Hossain and the chief coordinator of the fair Mr. Mohammad Ali Firose were present in the Press Conference.
