Road safety awareness is essential for everyone, and both drivers and passengers need to be aware of the dangers that can occur for not following proper road regulations. The event “Safety First” was held on the National Road Safety day, 22nd of October, by Pathao and a2i (Access to Information) to raise awareness about road safety and rules and regulations of the road. As a significant part of the “Safety First” event, the Honorable Member of Parliament, Captain of the national cricket team, Brand Ambassador of Pathao, Mashrafe bin Mortaza distributed 500 helmets to local motorcyclists in his election area, Narail 2, today.
Pathao CEO Hussain M. Elias, Narail District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasim Uddin and Pathao Marketing Lead Sayeda Nabila Mahabub were also present at the event as well as local reporters and journalists. Mashrafe thanked Pathao for the distribution of these helmets stating “road accidents are one of the major fears of the people and has become a social and economic problem for Bangladesh. This campaign will help raise awareness of the risk upon both the driver and the passenger in the vehicle and help them be safe. Distributing helmets will be a time-critical step to make people safer and more aware that they must be wearing helmets while riding.” Pathao’s CEO, Hussain M. Elias, said “Pathao is working to ensure security and safety of our drivers and users throughout Bangladesh. So far around 26,000 helmets have been distributed. Pathao is working continuously to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers using the platform.”
