JCI Dhaka Founders, a dynamic local organization under JCI Bangladesh, has successfully hosted its 2nd International Retreat and General Members Meeting (GMM 2) in Malaysia, welcoming over 45 entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Bangladesh.
The retreat held from April 25th in the vibrant city of Penang, blended leadership discussions, cultural exploration, and international networking. Delegates also participated in the 2025 JCI Malaysia Area North Convention, making this one of the most impactful global engagements by any Bangladeshi JCI chapter to date.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global network of young active citizens (aged 18–40) committed to driving positive change. JCI Dhaka Founders—formed entirely by business owners—carries this mission forward through a strong focus on leadership, innovation, and community impact.
This milestone followed the chapter’s historic first international retreat in Pokhara, Nepal in 2024, which marked JCI Bangladesh’s first-ever overseas GMM.
Led by Afshana Rahman, 2025 Local Vice President and lead organizer of both retreats, the event highlighted the chapter’s mission to create global exposure and growth opportunities for founders. The delegation connected with members of JCI Malaysia, building lasting relationships and exploring future collaboration.
A highlight of the retreat was the special session, “Inside the Founder’s Mind – AI and the Way Forward,” conducted by Angel investor and founding president M Asif Rahman, which sparked thought-provoking dialogue on technology and leadership.
The 2025 Local President S M Mehedi Hasan, 2025 National Vice President Nahid Hasan, and the majority of the chapter’s board and general members—all founders of prominent companies in Bangladesh were present during this retreat. Their participation reinforced the chapter’s identity as a community of changemakers.
Beyond the meetings, the retreat created moments of bonding, reflection, and shared purpose, reaffirming JCI Dhaka Founders’ commitment to building globally connected, future-ready leaders and setting new standards for international engagement from Bangladesh.
