Internet users surpass 9cr mark in Bangladesh

Over half of the Bangladesh’s population is now enjoying internet facility as its active users has surpassed 9 crore mark.

As of August, the internet users stood at 9.05 crore, which was 8.86 crore in July this year, according to data of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

Of the total, mobile internet users are 8.47 crore while 57.33 lakh uses broadband internet facility and the rest of the connections are WiMAX users.

Bangladesh has crossed the 8 crore mark in November last year.

Earlier, total active internet users crossed the milestone of 7 crore in April 2017 while the 6 crore mark in August 2016, 5 crore in August 2015 and 4 crore in September 2014.
