Grameenphone to support Uber drivers

Grameenphone recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Uber Bangladesh Ltd. at GP House in the capital. Under the partnership, any GP customer with a vehicle can on-board themselves as Uber driver partner at the Farmgate Grameenphone Center (GPC) and existing GP Uber drivers can receive support at the GPC as well. The agreement has been effective since 23rd May, 2019.

The partnership includes a special priced GP Starter Kit for the GPUBER drivers. The Starter Kit is equipped with 15 GB data pack (at BDT 649, for 30 days)  with  1 GP Prepaid SIM free,  Micromax handset (Micromax Canvas 1 at BDT 7,099, with 6.58% discount; or Micromax B5 Pro at BDT 9,199 with 8% discount), and VTS Lite at BDT 4,250 (15% discounted on BDT 4,999). Additionally, GPC agents will demonstrate the MyGP app and its benefits to the drivers. The price of this kit will vary from BDT 7,700 to BDT 12,000. Drivers can choose individual items from the kit for customization.

Furthermore, UBER will provide special promo codes to GPC walk-in customers upon app download. There will be s space at GP retail stores and support for UBER drivers.

The agreement was signed by Abul Kasem Mohiuddin Al-Amin, Chief Procurement Officer, Grameenphone Ltd., and Quazi Zulquarnain, Country Lead, Uber Bangladesh Ltd. The signing ceremony was also attended by Mohammad Sajjad Hasib, Head of Operations; Solaiman Alam, Head of Digital; Md. Atiqul Hossain, Head of Dhaka Central Region; Sayma Rahman, Head of Retail Partnership; and other senior officials from Grameenphone Ltd. and Uber Bangladesh Ltd.
